University of Mary Washington - People for the Rights of Sexual Minorities
PRISM promotes visibility and education for gender and sexual minorities on the UMW campus. We provide a safe space where anyone in the community, GSM or ally, can come and meet like-minded people, learn about issues facing the community, and have a good time.
Meetings are on Mondays at 9 PM in the Red Room in Woodard Campus Center.

knowhomo: Transgender Day of Remembrance November 20th, 2011 A day to remember every one. A day to give pause for every story. A silent prayer/hope/thought to those whose heart was close and who still closes their eyes to see a smile that will never repeat before them. A deep promise to do what is possible to educate, assist and encourage 2012 to have less names. A deep desire to be another ally who strives to keep 2012 clear of any name.   I like the idea of the white flags…if Gender Neutral Housing has the funds, maybe we’ll do that next year. [If you haven’t heard yet, GNH along with the Unitarian Universalists are having a candlelight vigil on Ball Circle at 5 PM for TDOR. We’re also giving out ribbons at the Nest.]
